From Katra to the Valley

The nights are one in Katra, two in Srinagar, one in Gulmarg and one in Pahalgam. Day 1 is arrival in Katra and RFID yatra card registration, Day 2 is the move to Srinagar by Vande Bharat, and Days 3 to 5 cover Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.

The record writes Day 2 around the Vande Bharat train. Train tickets are not included in the package and are not arranged by us unless your quotation says so, and we do not publish train times here because they change.

• Train tickets are not included. You book them, or ask us in the enquiry whether and how we can help.
• Check current timings and availability on the official railway booking channels before fixing your dates.
• Share your train details so the first and last days can be arranged around them.

Katra Day: What It Covers

The RFID yatra card is mandatory and is an official process you complete. No yatra, darshan, helicopter or access is scheduled or guaranteed in this plan.

• Our travel arrangements (stays, transfers) are separate from official registration, passes and tickets, which the shrine authorities issue and which you complete yourself.
• For Vaishno Devi, yatra registration and the RFID yatra access card are handled through the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Helicopter and other tickets should be booked only through its official channels.

• Gulmarg Gondola

  Tickets are booked online in each traveller’s own ID at jammukashmircablecar.com.

• Pahalgam valleys

  Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari need a local union vehicle, about ₹2,500–3,500 per vehicle per day, paid locally.

• Vaishno Devi

  Vaishno Devi: RFID yatra card mandatory; book helicopters only on the official Shrine Board site.

• Hill roads

  Cabs run with the AC off on steep hill roads.

• Winter

  Snow chains are carried in winter.

Practical Preparation for This Trip

• Arrival: share your flight or train number and time as soon as you book it. The first day is built around where you arrive, which we confirm with you.
• Clothing: Gulmarg and Pahalgam are higher and usually cooler than Srinagar, so carry layers whatever the month. Waterproof shoes with grip help on meadow and valley paths.
• Walking: two days are rated moderate in the record (for example a meadow walk or a pony or foot approach). The rest are easy. Tell us if stairs, slopes or long drives are a concern.
• Luggage: tell us the number and size of bags when you ask for a quote. It decides whether a sedan is enough or a larger vehicle is better. See the vehicle pages for luggage guidance.
• Tell us before booking: room and bedding needs, food preferences, mobility or access needs, and children’s ages. We pass them to the property and confirm what is possible; nothing is promised until your quotation states it.
