April is Kashmir's big spring month. The Tulip Garden is usually at its best in the first ten days of April and closes around mid-April as blooms fade. Gardens and orchards are in flower, Gulmarg's snow retreats upwards, and the road to Leh often reopens. It's also one of the busiest, priciest months, so book early.
