Waterfall · South Kashmir
The river falls in two stages through a narrow gorge.
Aharbal is a powerful waterfall where the Veshaw river drops through a granite gorge in pine forest, about 70–75 km from Srinagar via the apple town of Shopian. After past accidents, the area near the falls is fenced, so you view it from safe points. It's a separate day from the springs loop, lovely in late spring and autumn.

Pine forest and meadows make it a good picnic day.
Trout angling and short hikes are possible nearby.
