Khilanmarg is a high meadow above Gulmarg reached by pony or a steep walk. In summer it's carpeted with flowers and offers big views of the Pir Panjal and, on clear days, distant peaks; in winter it's snowbound terrain for skiers. It's a half-day outing best started early.
