The trek passes meadows at Lidderwat and Shekwas before reaching Tarsar lake, a deep blue lake below rock ridges, at around 3,800 m.

Twin alpine lakes above the Aru valley near Pahalgam — one of Kashmir’s most beautiful multi-day treks. Best time: Jul–Sep. Plan 5–7 days with trek support. Drive to Pahalgam, local vehicle to Aru, then trek with support.
The trek passes meadows at Lidderwat and Shekwas before reaching Tarsar lake, a deep blue lake below rock ridges, at around 3,800 m.
Marsar is a neighbouring lake; on many itineraries you see it from a ridge rather than walking to its shore.
Nights are in camps; days are 4–7 hours of walking with some steep sections.
