Getting from Delhi to the Start of Your Plan
By air
Published airline schedules list nonstop flights between Delhi and Srinagar (SXR), with several airlines listed. Frequencies and timings change by season, so check the flights for your own dates with the airline or your booking site. We do not publish fares or timetables because they go out of date quickly.
Srinagar airport has been working under runway-maintenance restrictions during 2026, including limited operating hours. Airline timetables can therefore differ from earlier years, so check the schedule for your own date.
By rail
No through train runs from Delhi to Srinagar yet. A Delhi–Srinagar Vande Bharat sleeper has been announced but is not in service, so do not plan around it.
By rail the journey is in two parts with a change at Katra: a Vande Bharat runs between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and a separate Vande Bharat connects Katra with Srinagar. Check IRCTC or NTES for the trains and timings on your dates, and treat the rail journey and your onward transfer as separate legs.

Your departure point
More than one airport serves the Delhi region. Tell us which one your ticket uses; it does not change the plan, but it helps us understand your travel day.
Transport information last checked 6 October 2026. Routes, timetables and rail services change, so confirm them with the airline or Indian Railways (IRCTC, NTES) before you book.
How Much Time to Allow
With a nonstop flight on the published schedule, the day you leave Delhi can also be Day 1 of your Kashmir plan. That depends entirely on the flight you book, so confirm its timing before choosing the plan’s start date.
If you take the train via Katra, add the rail days on both ends. A plan that starts at Katra begins there, not in Delhi.
- Travel from Delhi: the journey to Kashmir and back is booked by you, before and after the plan.
- Nights in the plan: the ground package counts only the nights you sleep in Kashmir.
- Arrival and departure days: usually part-days, shaped by your tickets.
- Usable sightseeing time: whatever remains between arrival and departure, which your quote does not guarantee.
So a 4N/5D plan is not a five-day trip from Delhi to Delhi once travel is added.

Planning Your Arrival Day
If you fly, we plan Day 1 once you know your flight time. If you arrive by Vande Bharat, we plan around the station arrival and your driver meets you as set out in your quote.
- The final plan for day one depends on your confirmed arrival time.
- We do not promise a full sightseeing day after every arrival.
- Late-night transfers and early hotel check-in are agreed with you in writing, not assumed.

We do not publish a starting price for a particular city, because the cost of the Kashmir plan does not depend on where you live. It depends on:

Is there a nonstop flight from Delhi to Srinagar?
Published schedules list nonstop flights on this route, with several airlines. Availability and timings vary by season and date, so check the airline for the dates you want before you plan around a particular flight.
Can I go from Delhi to Kashmir by train?
Not on a single train. You can take a Vande Bharat from New Delhi to Katra, then a separate Vande Bharat to Srinagar. A Delhi–Srinagar sleeper has been announced but is not running yet. Check IRCTC or NTES for the services on your dates.
Which package should I choose if I arrive by train at Katra?
Look at the plans that begin at Katra, such as Katra to Srinagar by Train, where the ground package starts at Katra rather than in Srinagar. Your quote will say where the plan starts and which transfers are included.
Are my Delhi flights or train tickets included?
Only if your written quote lists them. Our plans are priced for the ground package from the starting point to the drop-off point.
How many nights should I book if I fly nonstop from Delhi?
Count the nights in Kashmir and treat the arrival and departure days as part-days. A three- or four-night plan works as a short break; five or more nights leave room to move between Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
