Gurez is one of Kashmir’s most remote inhabited valleys. The main village, Dawar, sits at about 2,400 m beside the Kishanganga river, with traditional log-wood houses and fields.

A remote river valley beyond the Razdan Pass, with log-wood villages, the Kishanganga river and the pyramid-shaped Habba Khatoon peak. Best time: Jun–Oct (Razdan Pass closes with snow). Plan 2 nights minimum. Drive Srinagar → Bandipora → Razdan Pass (~3,300 m) → Dawar, about 5–6 h.

Gurez is close to the Line of Control and rules for foreign nationals are restrictive. Ask us before planning.
