Where to stay
Where to Stay in Katra and Jammu
Jammu and Katra are two different places, and they suit different plans. Jammu is the city where many travellers arrive or change transport. Katra is the town where the Vaishno Devi yatra begins. Which one you sleep in depends on your travel plan and when you want to start.
We arrange the stay and the road transport around your plan. We do not arrange darshan, shrine registrations, priority entry or helicopter tickets, and we cannot promise timings at the shrine.

Location Considerations
Jammu or Katra
A night in Katra puts you in the town where the yatra begins. A night in Jammu suits an arrival, a connection or a longer onward journey. Your arrival time and the day you want to start the yatra usually decide it.
Before and after the yatra
Some travellers want a night before the yatra and a rest night afterwards. Tell us your plan, and we propose where to sleep on each night.
Onward to Kashmir
On our combined plans, the Katra night is followed by the journey to Srinagar by road or train. The train ticket is not included in the plans that use the train.
Patnitop
Two of our plans add a night at the hill stop of Patnitop. It is a separate place with its own accommodation, quoted separately.

- Check-in and check-out times against your arrival and departure
- Bed configuration and occupancy for the group

How Many Nights to Consider
Our plans spend one or two nights in Katra and one night in Jammu on the longest route. A two-night stay can give time on both sides of the yatra; one night suits a combined route that moves on. We do not recommend one number, because it depends on your plan.

Questions About Staying in Katra and Jammu
Should I stay in Jammu or Katra?
Katra is the town where the yatra begins, and Jammu is the city. If you arrive and start the next morning, Katra is usually more direct; if you are connecting or travelling on, Jammu may suit. We propose it around your plan.
Do you arrange darshan or helicopter tickets?
No. We arrange the stay and the road transport. Darshan, registrations and helicopter bookings are with the relevant authorities, and we cannot promise timings or priority entry.
Can I leave my luggage while I am at the shrine?
Ask us, and we check whether the proposed property can hold luggage for you. We do not assume it.
Is the train ticket to Srinagar included?
No. On the plans that use the train, the ticket is bought separately.
How many nights do I need in Katra?
Two nights give time on both sides of the yatra; one night suits a route that moves on. It depends on your plan.
