Mughal garden · Srinagar
Three compact terraces surround the spring; locals fill bottles from it.
Chashme Shahi, the 'royal spring', is the smallest of Srinagar's Mughal gardens, built in 1632 by Governor Ali Mardan Khan. It's famous for its natural spring and its view over Dal Lake. There's a security check on the approach road because of a nearby paramilitary camp. Pari Mahal is just above it.

It's quick to see, about 45 minutes, and the view makes it worth the short climb.
Evening is popular for sunset; the gate may close before the light fades.
