Where to Stay in Leh and Ladakh
Leh is the main base in Ladakh, and the other stops on our routes, Nubra, Pangong and Kargil, are separate places with their own stays. A stay in a remote area is not the same as a hotel in Leh, so we describe each one separately rather than promising the same facilities everywhere.
You will usually spend several nights in Leh, with one or two further nights on the road to Nubra or Pangong. The stay type and arrangement for each place is confirmed in your quote.

Location Considerations
Leh as the base
Leh is where our plans spend the most nights in Ladakh, usually three to five. Ask about the position of the proposed stay relative to the town and the road; we do not state distances or times for individual properties.
Nubra, Pangong and Kargil are different
Our records price stays in Nubra, Pangong and Kargil as separate stops on the route. We do not describe their facilities as the same as a Leh hotel. The stay type, rooms, heating, hot water and meals for each stop are confirmed in the quote.
Distances between stops
Each change of stop is a night somewhere else, so the stays follow the route you choose.
Seasonal operation
Our Ladakh plans are suggested for roughly June to September. Stays in remote areas may operate for part of that time, so we confirm availability for your dates.

Stays at Nubra, Pangong and Kargil
Priced as separate stops on the routes. The stay type and its facilities are confirmed individually, and may differ from a city hotel.
Property names are supplied privately in your quote. Availability and exact arrangements are confirmed individually.
Room and Comfort Planning
Ask for these to be confirmed for your room and dates. They are things to check, not facilities we promise in advance.
- Room heating and hot water at each stop
- Power availability and charging, especially away from Leh
- Bed configuration and occupancy
- Which meals are included and where they are served
- Stairs to the room and the distance from where the vehicle stops
- Whether a stay at a remote stop is a hotel, a camp or another type
- Washroom arrangements in rooms and tents, where relevant
- Any property-specific requirement you have
How Many Nights to Consider
Our plans spend between three and five nights in Leh, with one or two nights at Nubra, one at Pangong and one at Kargil on some routes. Allowing time in Leh before going higher is part of how these plans are built; we do not shorten it to fit more in. Please speak to your doctor about altitude, because we give no medical advice.

Nights are read from each plan’s overnight allocation. A plan listed here includes nights in Leh and Ladakh; it does not mean a particular property or facility is included. The quote names the stay.
Seasonal Planning
Our records suggest roughly June to September for the plans with the overland road, and May to September for the fly-in highlights plan. Passes and roads can change, so we confirm access and availability for your dates.
Questions About Staying in Leh and Ladakh
Are stays at Nubra and Pangong the same as hotels in Leh?
Not necessarily. They are separate stops with their own stays, and the type and facilities are confirmed in the quote. We do not describe them as having the same facilities as a Leh hotel.
Will my room have heating and hot water?
It depends on the stay and the month. We ask for both to be confirmed for each stop and do not assume them.
How many nights should I plan in Leh?
Our plans spend three to five nights in Leh, and the time is part of how the route is built. We do not recommend shortening it.
Does the stay help with altitude?
We cannot give medical advice. Please speak to your doctor, and tell us if anyone in your group has health concerns so we can plan the pace with you.
Are these stays open all season?
We do not assume so. Availability varies by stay and month, and we confirm it for your dates.
