Before sunrise, farmers from Dal's floating gardens paddle their shikaras piled with vegetables to a meeting point on the lake to trade. It's over quickly, often by around 7 am, so you need a pre-dawn shikara booked the night before. It's one of the most authentic sights in Srinagar and a favourite with photographers.
