Day 1 is arrival in Kargil, Day 2 covers the Drass War Memorial and the Suru valley views, and Day 3 is a drive from Kargil to Srinagar for your onward journey.

It is written as an add-on to a Ladakh or Srinagar trip rather than a full holiday. Suggested period: June to September.

• Arrival: share your flight or train number and time as soon as you book it. The first day is built around where you arrive, which we confirm with you.
• Ladakh: expect strong sun, cold evenings and thin air. Pack sun protection, warm layers and any medicines you take, and speak to your own doctor about altitude. The plan keeps its rest day, so do not plan strenuous activity on arrival.
• Walking: the record rates every scheduled day as easy. Tell us if stairs, slopes or long drives are a concern.
• Luggage: tell us the number and size of bags when you ask for a quote. It decides whether a sedan is enough or a larger vehicle is better. See the vehicle pages for luggage guidance.
