Four Stops, With Extra Time in Srinagar

Compared with the six-night Family Kashmir plan, this one spends a third night in Srinagar and adds a day for Hazratbal and Hari Parbat before the drive to Sonmarg. The overnight stops then follow Sonmarg, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.

Sonmarg is a one-night stop: Day 4 drives there and includes Thajiwas glacier by pony or on foot. Our note asks you to stay on marked paths because glacier sections collapsed in 2024.

• Ages: how the quotation treats a child depends on age and bed arrangement. We do not publish child rates, so ask for them in your quote.
• Rooms: say whether you need one family room, an extra bed or two rooms. Availability differs by property and is confirmed in your quotation.
• Luggage: prams, car seats and several bags can mean a larger vehicle than the passenger count suggests. Tell us the bags you will bring.
• Breaks and pace: the longer transfer days are marked in the itinerary. Ask us to add a night if you want shorter days.
• Activities: Gondola phases, pony rides and uneven walks are not suitable for every child. Say what your children can do and we plan around it.

  Cabs run with the AC off on steep hill roads.

  Snow chains are carried in winter.

Practical Preparation for This Trip

• Arrival: share your flight or train number and time as soon as you book it. Your driver meets you at Srinagar airport or the railway station, and how much of day one remains depends on your arrival.
• Clothing: Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam are higher and usually cooler than Srinagar, so carry layers whatever the month. Waterproof shoes with grip help on meadow and valley paths.
• Walking: two days are rated moderate in the record (for example a meadow walk or a pony or foot approach). The rest are easy. Tell us if stairs, slopes or long drives are a concern.
• Luggage: tell us the number and size of bags when you ask for a quote. It decides whether a sedan is enough or a larger vehicle is better. See the vehicle pages for luggage guidance.
• Tell us before booking: room and bedding needs, food preferences, mobility or access needs, and children’s ages. We pass them to the property and confirm what is possible; nothing is promised until your quotation states it.
