Getting from Chennai to the Start of Your Plan
By air
In the published schedules we checked, there is no nonstop flight between Chennai and Srinagar (SXR). Travellers connect through another airport, and the booking site shows the combinations available for your dates. Check the total journey time and the length of the layover, not only the fare.
If a nearby city with a nonstop service suits you better, that is also an option, but compare the whole journey including getting there.
Srinagar airport has been working under runway-maintenance restrictions during 2026, including limited operating hours. Airline timetables can therefore differ from earlier years, so check the schedule for your own date.
By rail
No through train runs from Chennai to Srinagar. Rail means reaching Jammu Tawi or Katra and then a Vande Bharat to Srinagar.
We have not verified a direct service from Chennai to those stations for your dates. Check IRCTC or NTES and compare the full journey with a connecting flight.

- Nights in the plan: the ground package counts only the nights you sleep in Kashmir.
- Arrival and departure days: usually part-days, shaped by your tickets.
- Usable sightseeing time: whatever remains between arrival and departure, which your quote does not guarantee.
So a 4N/5D plan is not a five-day trip from Chennai to Chennai once travel is added.
