What to Confirm Before You Choose
Houseboats differ, and we do not publish houseboat names. Ask the quotation to state each of these:
- Which lake the houseboat is on, and how far it is from the road
- The room, bed and bathroom arrangement
- Whether you have the whole boat or a room on a shared boat
- Meals, and who cooks them
- How you get to and from the boat, and at what hours
- Heating in the cooler months and backup power
Houseboat on a Hotel Plan
A hotel-based plan can swap one Srinagar night for a houseboat night, which keeps the same number of nights, or add a houseboat night as an extra night, which makes it a revised plan. The quotation shows either.
Access and Luggage
The vehicle usually stops at a jetty or road end, and a small boat takes you across. Heavy luggage, mobility needs and late arrival all matter, so tell us and we confirm the transfer for your boat.
Shikara Rides
A shikara ride is included as the plan states it. A sunset shikara is a separate optional add-on, quoted separately.

Questions About Houseboats
Which lake will the houseboat be on?
It is stated in the quotation. We do not publish houseboat names or promise a lake before confirming.
Do I get the whole boat?
Not unless the quotation says so. A room on a shared boat and exclusive use are different arrangements.
Are meals included?
Breakfast and dinner are part of these plans. The quotation states how they are served.
Can I add a houseboat to a hotel plan?
Yes, either by swapping one Srinagar night or by adding one as an extra night.
How do I reach the boat?
By vehicle to a jetty or road end and then by small boat. We confirm the transfer for your boat.
