With seniors and young children, split the yatra into easy stages: stay close to the start in Katra, go up very early, use a palki or battery car (where eligible) or the shrine board helicopter, and plan rest at Adhkuwari or Sanjichhat. Keep a full rest day after the yatra before onward travel.

Practical tips
Choose a Katra stay with a lift and ground-floor dining. Carry the children's ID if required by the counters, snacks and a light blanket. Agree the palki/pony rate at the official rate board before starting. In winter, dress seniors in thermal layers.
Combine gently with Kashmir
After a rest day, take the Vande Bharat from Katra to Srinagar instead of a long road drive. See Katra to Srinagar by train.
Official bookings and our role
We are a private trip planner, not a shrine board. Registration, permits, helicopter tickets and darshan slots are only through the official shrine board channels; we help you plan around them.
FAQ
It saves most of the climb; from Sanjichhat it is about 2.5 km to the Bhawan, usually managed with a palki or slow walk. Booking is via the shrine board only.
