Shiv Khori is a cave shrine to Lord Shiva in Reasi district, usually visited as a long day trip from Katra. You drive to Ransoo (the base) and walk about 3–3.5 km on a paved path to the cave; ponies and palkis are available. It is busiest around Mahashivratri.
At a glance
How the day works
Leave Katra early, reach Ransoo by mid-morning, walk up to the cave (inside, passages are narrow in places), and return to Katra by evening. Pony and palki services are available at Ransoo.
Combine with Vaishno Devi
Do Shiv Khori the day before or after the Vaishno Devi yatra, not on the same day. Keep one easy day between them for seniors.
Official bookings and our role
We are a private trip planner, not a shrine board. Registration, permits, helicopter tickets and darshan slots are only through the official shrine board channels; we help you plan around them.
FAQ
The path is paved and moderate; the cave itself has some narrow, low sections. Most families manage it comfortably.
