Kheer Bhawani (Mata Ragnya Devi) at Tulmulla, about an hour from Srinagar, is set around a sacred spring; its main annual mela falls on Jyeshtha Ashtami (around May–June). The Martand Sun Temple near Mattan, Anantnag, is a protected 8th-century ruin on a plateau, easy to add on the way to Pahalgam. Shankaracharya Temple sits on a hill above Srinagar.

Fitting them in
Kheer Bhawani: half-day from Srinagar, or on the way to Sonmarg. Martand: a 30–45 minute stop on the Srinagar–Pahalgam drive. Shankaracharya: early morning on a Srinagar day — there are many steps and security checks, and phones may not be allowed at the top.
Respectful visiting
Dress modestly, remove footwear where asked, and follow photography rules. Martand is an ASI-protected monument — do not climb on the ruins.
