Srinagar airport (SXR) is about 30–40 minutes from Dal Lake. Expect security checks when you arrive near the airport and before entering the terminal, so reach at least 2.5 hours before a departure. Prepaid SIMs from other states don't work in J&K; postpaid does, and tourist SIMs are sold on arrival.
Arriving
Collect bags, switch to a postpaid SIM or buy a tourist SIM, meet your driver at the exit. Houseboat guests go to a Boulevard Road ghat, then by shikara.
